Just hours after our full and second session campers departed last weekend, Fathers and Sons descended upon Camp Manitou for a weekend of activity, frolic and bonding.

Waterskiing, wakeboarding, wakesurfing, fishing, swimming, water trampoline, Stand Up Paddleboarding, basketball, climbing tower, mountain biking, archery and riflery were amongst the most popular activities. The first night featured a big BBQ dinner, followed by a an evening at the Manitou Casino and a waterfront campfire.

Day two continued the theme of father-son activities and tasty meals. Several dads and sons completed island swims, played in a softball game a Peckham Park, basketball in Alumni Hall and participated in the Day of Champions event. A Maine Lobster bake for dinner and a trip to Giffords for ice cream and mini golf capped the day.

Saturday and Sunday’s rain did little to deter many of the dads from continuing their immersion into Manitou Magic. “A good time was had by all” and we can’t wait to do it again next year!
