Camp Weddings

Camp Manitou provides a beautiful backdrop for one of the biggest days of your life. The lake, sunsets, and pristine setting become the scenery for many magical moments and a memorable and unique wedding weekend. Our seasoned event staff ensure that your wedding offers the perfect blend of relaxation and activities that can only be found at a summer camp.

Ceremony

There are a number of ceremony locations available at camp. Our most popular option is at the waterfront, with a breathtaking view of the lake and mountains. Wooden benches can be arranged in rows to accommodate your guests. We offer a birch canopy which can be decorated by your florist or friends. There is also our Manitou Village, nestled in the woods in an intimate amphitheater-style arrangement with split-log seating. This location provides an intimate setting surrounded by nature and years of camp tradition.

In case of rain, our Creative Center, Alumni Hall, and Playhouse can quickly be converted into a wedding location with seating and shelter for your guests.

Reception

As your guests make their way up the hill from the wedding ceremony, they will be greeted on the front lawn of our Dining Hall with a selection of cocktails and passed or stationary hors d’oeuvres for the next portion of your wedding event. At the allotted time, one of our event staff will begin moving your guests inside to find their seats in our sprawling Dining Hall.

The Dining Hall provides the quintessential camp wedding setting, with camp plaques lining the walls and twinkle lights creating a warm glow to set the mood for an evening of dinner and dancing. The Dining Hall can seat up to 500 people with room for a dance floor. You may add your own elements with flowers, candles, linens, and other special touches. Rentals can be arranged through your event coordinator.

Weekend Activities

Throughout the weekend, your guests will have exclusive access to the many activities that we offer at Camp Manitou. Groups may put together their own pick-up games of basketball, baseball, volleyball, or tennis, or you can arrange a schedule to really make it feel like a day at camp!

Swimming and boating are available at the waterfront, and trips to nearby Maine attractions and golf courses can be recommended for those that want to explore the area.

End your evenings with a campfire and s’mores to cap off a beautiful day in the great outdoors of Maine.
